'SHARING IS CARING' is a continuation of Laura Hyunjhee Kim's exploration in the various modes of communication. Presented in the formats of a music video, she appropriates the tropes of popular culture – the abstraction of words and imagery through repetition. Referring to the anonymous communities built through social media networks (such as Facebook, Tumblr and Twitter), the piece remixes found-gifs highlighting the circulation of individual stories and questioning the relationships of floating identities within the digital net space.

Artist Statement
Laura Hyunjhee Kim is an interdisciplinary artist who primarily works with video, performance and digital images. Appropriating familiar imagery and stylistic formalities from popular culture, Kim's recent works have been subjected to her "It's Complicated" relationship with the Internet.
