Le Fetish Obscur (2003)

Le Fetish Obscur was completed in 2003 as an observation of overwhelming internet pornography. The marketing of online sex has become aggressive and persistent. Anybody, of any age, can be an unwilling observer. This Flash presentation takes 20x20 pixel segments from an assortment of images and places them into a grid. The 660 individual segments merge in an ever-changing media quilt that focuses on details such as an eye, a lip, a shoe or a strip of leather. The presentation is designed to strip the original images of the sexual connotations and impose a new visual collage. Reconstruction means deconstruction.
