What’s the sound of one hand clapping? Artist Scott Snibbe is fascinated by Buddhist Koans (unanswerable questions still worth pondering). So he developed “It’s Out” to illustrate a Koan about a man who wants to let a large goose out of a tiny bottle without harming either entity. Visitors can intuitively click & drag the edges of his elegant woodcut-like illustration, enacting the unfamiliar mental exercises and visualizations involved with getting the goose out. There is compositional fun to have here too: play around with duck/bottle boundries to create pictures that look very Robert Motherwell…
