Penney's 'DiaryU' project is a personal experiment in believable doppelganging. Pseudonymity is a familiar theme in the net art canon, from Alan/Jennifer Sondheim's trans-gender explorations, to Netochka Nezvanova trans-human manifestations, to Luther Blissett's media disinformation hacks.
