It requres a very artificial and complicated frame of mind to 'hear' a 'pure noise' (Martin Heidegger, 1927).

It may be that the sound molecules of pop music are at this very moment implanting here and there a people of a new type, singularly indifferent to the orders of the radio, to computer safeguards, to the threat of the atomic bomb (Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, 1980).

The more indulgent and sonically perverse we got, the more commercial we sounded. We have accidentally made a record that is not a response to music that we love or a reaction against music that we hate. Finally, there are no more enemies, and there are no more heroes… just sound (Wayne Coyne, 1997).

We made it, so it's ours to destroy (Jeff Tweedy, 2002).
