-empyre- Alter-Form - Mez and Hideki Nakazawa

To kick off our last session for the year -empyre- takes pleasure in
introducing our September Guests two artists working with very different
forms:

—>Australian Mez will discuss the projected self in networked space -
representation which allows for constant revision and a certain amount of
slippage in terms of personality construction within public/private notions
of space. Mez, constructs unique code/net.wurks via her pioneering
net.language "mezangelle", and is also a networked jillaroo, an online
journalist and co-moderator of the _arc.hive_ experimental mailing list. her
award winning works have been exhibited extensively internationally since
the early 90's, and is currently showing in The Pleasure of Language at
Montevideo, Amsterdam.

—>Artist Hideki Nakazawa from Tokyo will discuss the
Methodicist Manifesto - an logical approach to pure Art, Poetry and
Sound composition. Hideki has been working as a multimedia artist since the
early 1990's producing multimedia works like the floppy magazine Japan Art
Today, software like Digital Nendo, and patents for his "Device for
processing a 3-D image" and "Solid Object Generation." He turned a pure
artist in 1997, and thereafter created logical works in succession using
letters or go-stones, showing internationally, and recently published "The
Lives of Western Painters", currently available in Japanese.
