Call for applicants::Digital Artists wanted::Educational Opportunity

Apologies for cross postings:

The Digital Arts Division within the School of Art at Bowling Green State
University is seeking artists working in digital, electronic, and
interactive media as applicants for the MFA Degree Program. Digital Arts
Graduate students receive 100% tuition waivers and Graduate Assistantships
in Teaching and/or in Research.

The Digital Arts Division, initiated in 1988, is an established
interdisciplinary studio art program consisting of four full-time and one
visiting faculty. The program addresses a range of activities, including
various forms of interactive media, 2d and 3d animation, 3d modeling,
digital video, net art, virtual environments, digital imaging, gaming,
physical computing, hybrid media, and theory. Graduate students typically
work at very high conceptual and/or technical levels in the development of
independent thesis projects that address issues related to new media and
digital production.

The Digital Arts Laboratory in the School of Art includes a PC lab with 24
Dell Precision dual 300 mhz xeons, 2 gb of RAM, Nividia Quadro FX2000
graphics cards, and 21 inch LCD displays; a MAC lab with 22 G4 PowerMacs
with dual 800mhz processors, 1 gb of RAM, and 17 inch LCD displays; an 8
seat Media100s non-linear video-editing lab; a passive stereo 6 x 9 virtual
reality projection wall with surround-sound stereo; driven by a 3 cpu
windows cluster, and film, flat-bed scanners, digital cameras, camcorders,
HMDs, and cd/dvd burners.

Graduate students in the School of Art at Bowling Green State University
have access to high-end equipment within the university, and through
research partnerships with other institutions. The FLAAR Digital Imaging
Resource Center at BGSU tests and uses a variety of wide format printers,
high resolution scanners, and rapid-prototyping technologies. A partnership
with The New Media Center and the Medical College of Ohio offers Digital
Arts graduates access to state of the art audio and video production and
post-production studios, live motion capture, force feedback systems, and 3d
scanning technologies.

Accepted candidates can pursue the Interdisciplinary Master's Degree option
within the Graduate College by petitioning to combine at least two different
degree areas. This offers candidates the unique opportunity to combine work
in Digital Arts with, for example, Computer Science, Theatre, Film Studies,
Popular Culture, or Music.
