Bronx Stabilization Fund

For Immediate Release

August 09, 2004, Bronx, New York. The Bronx Council on the Arts and Corporate Performance Artists are pleased to announce that Corporate Performance Artists have been named the Technology Advancement providers for the Bronx Stabilization Fund. The services will include Technical Assessment, Planning, one-on-one consulting, and workshops geared towards building capacity and stability for all the arts groups in the Bronx.

In August of 2003, Bronx Council on the Arts Executive Director Bill Aguado announced a $1.5 million Bronx Arts Stabilization Fund. The Bronx Arts Stabilization Fund is a combination of infrastructure services and financial support to facilitate the stabilization of Bronx arts organizations and artists while laying the foundation for future growth. The infrastructure services are essential to the development and sustainability of Bronx arts groups, cultural institutions and professional artists. They include professional development, legal services, technology advancement, marketing and promotions support, and consultants available on an ongoing basis for current and future Culture Venture Fund initiatives, among other services.

"The Bronx Arts Stabilization Fund will have a ripple effect on the entire borough. A comprehensive and well-designed community arts development program is a recognized need throughout the nation, and particularly in underserved urban areas such as the Bronx during this time of change and economic uncertainty. As the arts flourish in the Bronx, collateral benefits may include providing a workable model for other communities and making the Bronx's name synonymous with hope and creativity," said Mr. Aguado.

About Corporate Performance Artists

Corporate Performance Artists is both an art/performance practice and a business/technology practice. In the past, it was rare that art knowledge was shared other than in a museum space or theater. We bring this creative knowledge to the work environment through shared technical and cultural exchanges with businesses (and employees of the businesses) and community organizations for which we consult and produce. Our intentions are to propagate the wealth created through the creative process, both financially and spiritually, to everyone involved.
