The Syracuse University Department of Transmedia seeks an Assistant or Associate professor to work within one or more areas of the Department of Transmedia. We're seeking an artist with a strong record of achievement to share leadership and offer a unique vision within a dynamic and thriving department. As a new faculty member you will: (1) teach a standard 3/2 load (three courses one semester, two the other) within one or more programs in Transmedia; (2) design new courses based on your areas of interest; and (3) advance your research and/or studio and exhibition practice. We are interested in an artist who can work across multiple areas of the department (see below). Faculty responsibilities are split: 40% teaching, 40% research, 20% service. Standard service includes department, college, and university committees, student advising, and community engagement. The Transmedia Department actively seeks diverse voices and colleagues who offer fresh perspectives. Our principal question is, “how will you stretch our understandings,” not “how will you conform to what we already know.”
