The Syracuse University Department of Transmedia seeks a filmmaker for a tenure-track position in a well‐established and respected film program offering both BFA and MFA degrees in Film. Our new faculty member will be a production‐oriented filmmaker with a deep knowledge base in digital cinema workflows as well as super16 film production. Particular areas of interest are cinematography, lighting, and editing. New faculty will teach a standard 3/2 load (three courses one semester, two the other) primarily in the Film program, with some assignment in Video or Transmedia Core depending on expertise and qualifications. The faculty member will bring production expertise directly to the classroom and help design new courses based on his/her own research and practice. We look forward to our new faculty member sharing his/her unique vision with the program and department. The workload will be split between (40%) teaching, (40%) research, and (20%) service. For service, the faculty member will participate on committees in the department, college, and/or university and help with student advising, and community engagement. Transmedia actively seeks diverse voices and colleagues  who offer fresh perspectives. Our principle question is, “how will you stretch our understandings,” not “how will you conform to what we already know.”
