Tenure-Track Studio Position - 3-D: Nano to Jumbo

The undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan offer a single major at the intersection of art and design. Free of traditional concentrations, these highly progressive programs challenge students to set their own pathways and undertake robust, self-defined culminating projects. To enhance these unique programs, we are seeking to hire an artist-designer who is a bold thinker with welldeveloped capabilities in realizing physical work in a wide range of scales. Applicants should have experience with multiple fabrication techniques and materials, utilizing the domains of sculpture, installation, product design, and/or environmental work. A portfolio of conceptually-rich creative work that would expand the scope of faculty capabilities in the School - along with a broad understanding of contemporary practices in art and design, including art-design intersections, histories, theories, and criticism - is expected.

Special consideration will be given to applicants whose qualifications and interests prepare them for active engagement with other academic units at the University and/or with the community beyond the University, and to applicants who are open to collaborative/interdisciplinary teaching, research, and creative projects.
