A while ago, I found a stack of photographs of a strange young man on the shelf of a second hand store. The pictures sat inside my desk drawer for a month until one day, I pulled them out and began sending them to friends and other folks via post, asking them to mail or email me their own written stories about who they believe he is.
In this project, I am curious about the different responses to one image of a complete stranger. How do we see each other from a distance? What are our judgements or reactions to images of strangers?
As I receive responses, I'll be posting them onto The Stranger web page then will eventually compile them into physical book form.
If you are interested in participating in this project, please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) your physical address and I'll promptly send you a picture. Please specify in your email or mail If you prefer to remain anonymous, if not, your name will be used for both the online and book project of the Stranger.
