Lower Manhattan Cultural Council presents Undisciplined: Race and New Media Art, with performances and screenings by artists Mendi and Keith Obadike and Rico Gatson. Mendi and Keith Obadike’s and Rico Gatson’s work explore ideas of race, popular culture, and technology, with multi layered and cross-disciplinary art. Among other notable creations, Mendi and Keith continue to receive worldwide discussion for their attempt at selling the concept of Keith Obadike’s “blackness” on eBay. Undisciplined is a part of “harlem is… Downtown”, a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council program that continues to explore the deep connection between Harlem and Lower Manhattan.
