This workshop, designed and led by media artist Dan Tapper, aims to bridge the gap between technology and perception, offering a hands-on approach to creating tools that unveil the unseen aspects of our environment.
Topics to be explored:
* Understanding Sensor Basics: An introduction to various simple sensors - their functions, capabilities, and applications.* Creating Sensory Extensions: Learn how to use these sensors to build simple sonic devices that extend our natural senses, allowing us to perceive environmental factors beyond human capabilities.* Interactive experimentation: Engage in hands-on experimentation using piezo elements to detect vibrations, photoresistors for light sensing, and more, translating these sensor inputs into creative outputs.
