Transmission Art Residency and Radio Art Fellowship Progams

  • Location: Acra, NY and/or Remote
  • Deadline: Feb 1 2024 at 12:00PM

Wave Farm is thrilled to announce our 2024 Transmission Art Residencies and Radio Art Fellowships. The application deadline for both programs is February 1, 2024. Newly updated and aligned for 2024, both programs include additional special opportunities.

Beginning in 2024 a single application will be used for both the Wave Farm Transmission Arts Residency Program and the Radio Art Fellowship Program. Applicants may submit to as many of the opportunities in the application as desired. Successful applicants will receive an offer for a single opportunity.

2024 Transmission Arts Residencies: During a 10-day residency at Wave Farm, artists develop new transmission artworks, informed by access to a research library, equipment, unique workspace resources, and on-site staff support.

In 2024, the Wave Farm Residency Program will emphasize “Live Performance for an Expanded Studio Audience.” Each residency will conclude with a public event at Wave Farm, which is also a live radio broadcast on Wave Farm Radio: WGXC 90.7-FM Radio for Open Ears in NY’s Upper Hudson Valley. An artist fee of $1,000 will be provided to each resident artist.

2024 Radio Art Fellowships: In 2024, Wave Farm Radio Art Fellowships will be a one-month engagement, commencing with a 10-day stay at Wave Farm’s Study Center for research and immersion. The rest of the fellowship engagement will take place remotely. Fellowships will be awarded in three distinct categories: Resesarch, Community Engagement, and Arts Writing. A fellowship stipend of $2,000 will be provided to each Fellow.
