SFPC Winter 2024

The trees are shedding leaves, and animals are letting fur, skin and feathers slip off their backs. As the season changes, we bring four classes that can help us shed, transform and transfigure our relationship to technology and the world with questions such as: How can archives provide us glimpses into possible pasts and futures that can help us transform our present? Can we use archives to write ourselves into our own pasts? Who does the idea that there’s a thing such as ‘neutrality’ in the creation of high technology serve? What spaces and technologies are possible if we center Blackness as the foundation of virtual creation? How do we cultivate infrastructures of solidarity with each other, especially under conditions of crisis, protest, and systemic inequity? How can we use the raw materials of HTML and the systemic visuals of CSS to create poems out of websites and websites out of poems? Come find the joy in transformation with us this Winter!
