Mortal

The theme of the movement/dance piece Mortal is death and the soul. The body struggles for life, submits to death, and transforms into the inert mobility of death. The slumber of death then awakens into a somnambulant dream state. Mortal is performed by Welland Scripps and is choreographed by Scarlet Rivera. Video and sound design by Donna Cheng.

Oedipus On the Edge of Chaos

Oedipus On the Edge of Chaos is a multimedia performance piece that examines non-linearity and chaos as they are found in the natural world and applies them to a re-telling of Sophocles’ Oedipus Cycle. Focusing on the characters of Laius, Oedipus, and Antigone, the performance will take the linear, familial, chronological narrative of the trilogy, and wrap it back upon itself. The piece is collaboration between Elizabeth Amari, Susan Landau, Robert Ramirez and Rie Tomita.

Winter Winter

Winter Winter is a collaborative musical and visual performance by MACRE in Flute/Electronics (Chiahao Lin), Percussion/Electronics with Dry Ice (Madeleine Gallagher). This performance integrates live visuals of changing seasonal landscapes mixed with video synthesizers for this live musical event. This project explores the relationship between acoustic and electronic sound with visual processing based on sound performance.
