Visiting Assistant Professor Department of Art and Art History

Studio Art, Video Artist. The department of Art and Art History at Colgate University welcomes applications for a one year visiting assistant professorship in Video Art, beginning fall semester 2019, five course load. Teaching expertise and artistic practice may include experimental film, animation, documentary, installation, and other time-based media practices. The successful candidate will teach courses in Video Art as a studio practice, as well as an Introduction to Studio Art course that spans theory and practice across artistic media. There will also be opportunities to advise students engaged in senior thesis projects in studio art, and to contribute to ongoing film and media programming in Golden Auditorium, a state-of-the-art 150-seat theater with 35mm,16mm and digital projection capabilities. The successful candidate may be expected to participate in all university programs, including the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum. Completion of the MFA is expected prior to or shortly after the date of hire.
