Transcinema is a festival of expanded cinema now in its 6th year. The 2004 performance series gets underway Friday June 11 in San Francisco's seminal tech-art gallery, Rx.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

A regular in the future-cinema circuit, The Light Surgeons are a collective of photographers, designers and filmmakers who have for the last three years been at the forefront of a new form of visual experimentation through design as projection. Their multi-image soundscapes are carefully orchestrated using an array of projection equipment - from slide/film to digital video. Their performances explore the boundaries between sound and image, performance and spectacle, cinema and experience.
