Call for Artists: Exhibition and Publication “Artist Statement”

CICA Museum invites artists worldwide to participate in the international exhibition and publication “Artist Statement.” Selected artists’ statements and works will be featured in the exhibition at CICA Museum and the book, “Artist Statement #1.”

[Publication] Series Book “Artist Statement”
The book “Artist Statement #1” will be published as a paperback (black and white) and eBook. The book series will be available in major bookstores in Korea, and also in the United States and other countries via Amazon.

Selected works will be printed in 10×15 inches, framed, and installed by our curators & assistants. Please let us know if you have photographs larger than 10×15 inches.

-Video & Interactive Art
We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel works will be screened through a projector. Our curators & assistants will install your work(s) according to your installation guidelines. If the work is required to be screened through a projector exclusively, or more than two projectors/monitors are needed, please contact us at “[email protected].” Additional fees may apply.

-Painting, Sculpture, and Installation Art
The artist is responsible for the shipment and delivery of his/her work to and from CICA Museum, as well as all related expenses. The work should be no larger than 39 inch (1 m) on the longest length for a painting and no larger than 59x59x79 inches (1.5 x 1.5 x 2 m, w x l x h) for a sculptural/installation piece.

August 28, 2016 Close Submissions
September 5 – 11, 2016 Approvals: Selected artists will be notified by email.
October 14– 30, 2016 Exhibition
December 12, 2016 Expected publication date of “Artist Statement #1”

*How to submit your work:
– Please send us up to 3 direct links to video and/or up to 5 JPG images, your artist statement, and bio. Please email them to “[email protected].”
– Please write “Submission: Artist Statement – Your Name” in the subject line of your email.

If your work is selected, you will be required to pay the printing & show maintenance fee: $65 (USD).
