Open Call for Artists for collaborative exhibition between Flux Factory NY and RELAPSE UK

  • Location: New York, London & Online
  • Deadline: Jun 10 2016 at 11:06PM
Artists are invited to submit proposals for a collaborative exhibition exchange between RELAPSE, an online community for artists working in various mediums, the gallery space in Tom’s Etching Studio an art organisation in Hackney Wick, London, and Flux Factory, a collectively- run artist residency in Queens, NYC. “3459” is co-curated by Emireth Herrera Valdes in New York and RELAPSE in London, and will take place in August 2016.

“3459” will connect artists and viewers from London and New York by engaging in a content swap by live-streaming each location’s exhibition environment and performances to the other to create a relational exhibition experience. We are looking for works that consider the format of the exhibition - the streaming of one space to the other, the virtual interactions which are created, and the elements of both spaces. Taking into consideration the multitude of cultures in both London and New York (especially Queens), we accept and encourage works executed in any language.

We invite artists to propose:

1. Live actions. These works will be realized during the times both galleries are open and shared through live streaming. This can include
performance, readings, talks, etc. Proposals for interactive works which engage both spaces in London and New York are encouraged.

2. Works to be installed in NYC and London. These works will be recorded and projected to each space during the hours the galleries do not coincide. Proposals can include painting, sculpture, drawings, video, installation.

**London site - Due to the size of the space, works will be on view from the opening hour of the space and taken down at the end, allowing new artists to show each day.**
