The Museum of Human Achievement (MoHA) is a multi-disciplinary event space and arts organization based in Austin, Texas which serves as a community hub for new experience and expression pertaining to art, new media, technology and live performance.

MoHA is presently working to retool our programming to be at the forefront of new media art and expression in Austin. We have recently secured a grant which allows us to acquire various elements of emergent technology hardware/software (namely, VR, 3D printing, and biofeedback equipment) in order to achieve this goal.

We are seeking a consultant/consultants to assist in our technology acquisition process; person(s) who ideally have experience and a knowledge base which encompasses all or some of these technologies, but also person(s) who have in-depth knowledge in the singular.

This new expansion will greatly benefit our capacity to serve the Austin community of artists, as well as national and international artists through both our resident artist program and video game developers via our partnership and permanent arcade space with independent game development group Juegos Rancheros.

MoHA has hosted and curated a large variety of events from an incredibly diverse array of artists and organizations from throughout Austin and around the world. Past MoHA programming includes events featuring Thurston Moore, Silver Apples, Mark Flood, Jad Fair, Julianna Barwick, Phil Niblock, Jaap Blonk, and No Age. In addition to having established a growing residency program, MoHA regularly partners with local organizations such as Exploded Drawing, Raw Paw, No Idea Festival, Monofonus Press, Church of the Friendly Ghost, University of Texas, Texas State University, and Fusebox Festival. We are continuing to grow these relationships and the scope of our events to bring in new and different audiences; Our rapidly growing reputation has put us at the forefront of creative thought and collaboration and as a central hub for arts and culture.

In providing space, environment and atmosphere which encourages experimentation, awareness, and open-minded participation, MoHA is more than just an event space, studio center, or residency: it is an axis of access, a space in which community is allowed to revolve around an accessible space, wherein both the freedom necessary for young, emerging artists and the potential of growth for more established artists are not only facilitated, but also allowed to develop/expand.
