All admitted students receive a financial aid package that consists of a tuition waiver and an assistantship stipend of $15,360 USD per year. Tulane University’s Newcomb Art Department offers a MFA degree in a small-sized, intensive, interdisciplinary, two-year residency program that emphasizes close interaction with faculty and peers, and engagement with the city’s unique cultural landscape. Degree requirements focus on studio work but include four MFA seminar classes and two graduate level courses in the history of art.
