The City of Virginia Beach seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create video/digital artwork for display at the new Virginia Beach Convention Center (VBCC) in Va. Beach. The space available consists of four screens of 90 feet by 9 feet, totaling 360 feet wide by 9 feet high. The video art wall consists of a computer server, multiple DLP (digital light panel) projectors and audio speakers. The completed VBCC opened in January 2007.
Artwork will be commissioned and purchased. The artist's award will be at least $10,000, and includes all costs associated with the project. For details, please refer to http://www.vbgov.com under "Call to Artists."
