Video Full-time Faculty

Position:
Full-time opening in Video. The Video Department of Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) invites applications for this continuing full-time position with a multi-year renewable contract in a non-tenure institution.

Begins:
Fall 2007. The College seeks an experienced video/ film artist to teach production and post-production on a variety of levels at an art school nationally known for its dedication to teaching excellence, a rigorous liberal arts curriculum and both traditional and new studio technologies. The full-time teaching load will consist of eighteen credits per year, which normally will be assigned as three courses per semester. The selected individual will also be required to participate in all aspects of departmental operations and institutional governance including advising, institutional and departmental committee service and scheduled departmental and student activities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough technical and conceptual knowledge of video and/or film production and post-production. An additional knowledge of installation, interactive media, internet, sound and/or 2D/ 3D animation is encouraged. An MFA degree or equivalent professional experience; strong record of professional excellence as demonstrated by a body of work and related activities, and a personal commitment to teaching on a college level are required. Teaching experience on a college-level beyond graduate assistantships is preferred.
