An opportunity to exhibit work exploring the interchanges between arts and sciences (UK)

What? We are holding a symposium on ‘The relationship between science and art and their similarities as innovative, research-based practices’ on Saturday 27th January 2007 and want to include innovative work what explores the interchanges between arts and sciences as part of this event.

Where? East Midlands Creative Lab, Derby University, Green Lane Site, UK.

East Midlands Creative Lab is a multi facetted science/arts education programme centred around and inspired by Primitive Streak, a .ground breaking fashion and textile exhibition chronicling the first 1000 hours of human life. Primitive Streak is a collaboration between Helen Storey and her sister Dr Kate Storey, a biologist at the University of Dundee. This educational hybrid has been seen in 6 countries by over 3 million people and has been critically and publicly acclaimed.

The programme aims to stimulate debate on the many interchanges between arts and sciences and act as a stimulus for innovative education work. This is being developed through a bespoke professional development programme for teachers, school visits, research bursaries and open weekends and debates. See www.primitivestreak.org.uk

East Midlands Creative Lab is a partnerships project supported by Creative Partnerships in Derby, Nottingham, BAM and Leicester and developed with The Helen Storey Foundation, Arts Council England East Midlands, Derbyshire County Council, Derby City Council University of Derby and Arts in the Peak.
