Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray\_area)

A grey area is a term for a border in-between two or more things that
is unclearly defined, a border that is hard to define or even
impossible to define, or a definition where the distinction border
tends to move. There are several flavors of grey areas:

a-ª A grey area of definitions signifies a problem of sorting reality
into clearly cut categories. Example: where is the border between
erotica and pornography?

a-ª A grey area of law is an area where no clear law or precedent
exists, or where the law has not been applied in a long time thus
making it unclear if it is applicable at all.

a-ª A grey area of ethics signifies an ethical dilemma, where the
border between right and wrong is blurred. Example: is killing always
abominable?

Grey areas are widely accepted in democratic societies and have a
clear connection to the notion of tolerance, whereas in societies of
totalitarianism, grey areas are typically not accepted on any level.

Many people accept grey areas as a natural part of the human
experience, whereas others may react with suspicion and a feeling of
deficients or incompleteness of any thought-system (or paradigm)
accepting grey areas.

MANIK'S TEXTS:

The Inhabitancy zone is a socially unacceptable space, but it is densely
inhabited. These parameters make it indispensable in order to define,
describe, extend the space of the Subject. The process is reversible.
Because as much as the destructive infrastructure of the Subject is being
excommunicated from the compact, the one and the same is being accepted as a
byproduct. The peripheral, the excommunicated becomes another level of the
social Corpus.

Life in excommunication is a life of deteriorating discontinuity,
schizophrenic, robotics, a life pleading for a multitude becoming an act of
creativeness and an act of critical language. The inescapable: hegemony/
major highway. Or surrender and thus precipitates the ultimate, accepting
and entering the mutations as if they were syntactic necessities of an
illogical praxis.

In the gray, ghetto, utopia/non democratic zones the language echoes, is
trimmed.
The person, the personality, the subject, the identity - is autistic,
rejected, isolated, needless, and, therefore, satisfied, optimistic,
stealing from many languages (the languages of the Arts & Crafts, the
Foreigner, Psychology, Nation, Economics, New Technologies, Ancient once,
the languages of all imaginable alienation). Thus intensifying the pleasures
and calming them down with the fatigue and decision of the machine. And the
leniency of the Una river frames, the river who moved to excommunication
too.

The habits of separation are thus leveled and liberated from man and his
history. Free from their debts.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The uninhabitable zone is a socially unacceptable but densely populated
space. Due to these qualifications it is essential in order to define,
describe and expand the area of the Subject. The process is reversible
because no matter how excluded the interfering infrastructure of the Subject
is from the contract, it is accepted as a derivative so the periphery and
the rejected, the excluded (Verwrenfung) become one surface on the Body of
society. To live in Verwerfung is to live in a de-territorialized
discontinuity, schizophrenically and machine like, advocating plurality as
an act of creativity and thus a language of critique. We can not avoid
hegemony/ the mainstream, we can only submit to it speeding up the end,
accepting and going into transformations as synthetic requirements of the
madness of illogical practice. In the gray, ghettoized, utopian
non-democratic zones language buzzes and is wedged. The
image/personality/subject/identity is autistic, rejected, isolated,
unnecessary and thus it is unavoidably satisfied, optimistic because it
steals language (the language of skills, the language of foreigners, the
language of psychology, the language of a nation, the language of economy,
the language of new technologies, forgotten languages, the languages of all
possible alienation) it intensifies its satisfaction and in a Riemann's
surface departs and extinguishes itself like exhaustion and a decision a
machine would make. Thus there is relief in the saved frames of the river
Una which too has moved to Verwerfung (the rejected).. The habit of
rejection have so separated into surfaces finally freed from man and his
history. The freedom from obligations.
