Lansing-Dreiden at the Digital Culture Evening at the New Museum of Contemporary Art

NEW MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART PRESENTS Lansing-Dreiden

Digital Culture Evening
Date: Thursday, November 13, 2003, 6.30-8.00 PM
Location: Zenith Media Lounge

The New Museum of Contemporary Art is pleased to present Lansing-Dreiden at the Zenith Media Lounge on Thursday, November 13, 2003.

This Digital Culture Evening will profile new works being released by Miami's collective, Lansing-Dreiden. The New Museum will host an installation of Lansing-Dreiden's two new animated music videos, An Effect of the Night and A Sectioned Beam, 2003, as well as stills from A Sectioned Beam. The evening will also celebrate the release of Lansing Dreiden's CD: A Sectioned Beam E.P., as well as their newspapers, Death Notice I and II. Organized by Anne Barlow and Defne Ayas, the event will take place from 6:30-8 PM, during which time the artists will be available to discuss their work.

Lansing-Dreiden is a collective of young artists who describe themselves as "an organization of like-minded people and computers, seeing no distinction between art and commerce - or anything else." Interested in exploring the question of "truth" versus "fiction," Lansing-Dreiden produce work in various media including animated video, drawings, music and newspapers. Lansing-Dreiden was founded in 2000 and has been included in exhibitions at the UCLA Hammer Museum and the Rivington Arms and Lawrence/Feuer/LaMontagne galleries in Manhattan.

Zenith Media Lounge is a digital and media art technology collaboration with Zenith Electronics Corporation. Zenith Media Lounge exhibitions and public programs are supported by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Jerome Foundation and the New York State Council on the Arts.
