Call for submissions: short videos

Ninth Letter exists in two distinct but related incarnations: as a literary/visual arts magazine published twice a year, and a website venue featuring new media and emerging literary forms not supported by the technology of ink and paper. Ninth Letter has received awards for both outstanding content and design.

Ninthletter.com is currently seeking short video works, between 3 - 12 minutes (5 minutes is ideal), that can be highlighted in the Featured Artist section of the website. We are particularly interested in work that is narrative, features spoken word, or utilizes text or language in interesting ways.

We are not looking for slick Hollywood-style productions, but instead wish to discover inventive work by independent artist/authors that we can deliver to a sophisticated audience interested in new media, and new literary and narrative genres.

Submissions will be screened on an ongoing basis, but to receive first consideration for the upcoming fall and winter publishing schedule work must be received by August 1, 2007.

Ninthletter.com currently publishes video content in Quicktime format, with pixel dimensions of 400 x 300. These are the recommended specifications for submissions. Url links to online versions of video files are encouraged. Files under 20Mb can be e-mailed to [email protected]. CD’s or DVD’s can be mailed to the address below, but will not be returned.
