The Standby Program celebrates 20 years of providing artists and independent filmmakers access to state-of-the-art media services at affordable rates.

UPCOMING 20th ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

Benefit Party, Saturday October 11th, 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Standby will present a party at Remote Lounge located at 327 Bowery between East 2nd and 3rd streets, a technology-themed cocktail lounge and new media art space. The evening's events will include a 2-hour open bar, entertainment by VJ Art Jones, Glomag, and MC Ron Ehmke. Standby's Benefit Art Auction which will be featured on Ebay and culminate during the benefit party.

Everyone's A Winner Raffle. When you purchase Standby raffle tickets, everyone is a winner. Every ticket purchased is guaranteed to win a prize with a value of $25 or greater. And every one of us wins because every ticket you purchase supports Standby in providing valuable services to the arts community. Prizes include a vacation package, museum and screening passes, gourmet gift baskets, magazine subscriptions, and gift certificates for New York City restaurants. The final drawing for the raffle will be held the night of the benefit.

No Technical Difficulties Screening Series The retrospective is a survey of a diverse range of works created since the 1980's by artists and organizations that have demonstrated a significant use of the program's services. The series provides insight into the way makers have been producing work in the last two decades, representing the changes in the field, shaped by advances in technology. Planning is in progress to travel the series internationally through 2004.

THE STANDBY PROGRAM, INC. is a non-profit media arts service organization founded in 1983. Standby is dedicated to fostering the creation and preservation of media art work by democratizing access to media technology, providing technical information and consultation, and producing publications which advance the development of the field as a whole.

Standby provides artists and independent makers access to commercial quality media services at affordable rates. Standby is a model of collaboration that allows the arts community access to the resources of the private sector. The program operates out of several top-rated media post-production studios located in New York City. These facilities drastically discount their rates for Standby clients by as much as 50 -90\% off list prices.
