Whatever you always wanted to know about artists from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe but had to look long and hard to find, now you can find it with one click. culturebase.net is the name of the new Who's Who of the non European art and culture scene.

Detailed portraits on artists from more than 150 countries and territories are immediately available through this multimedia database. So far culturebase.net contains information about 1,000 artists who work in the genres of visual arts, film, photography, design, theatre, dance and music, as well as literature and science.

Portraits written by experts offer detailed information about the included artists. Additionally, audio and video files, images and texts enable the user to have direct insight into artists' work. All information can be accessed in English and German in this initial phase.
