anti-war exhibition on the Internet

"Let the Muses drown out the cannon's roar !"

An anti-war exhibition on the Internet

A newly launched website presents an anti-war exhibition by artists from across the globe. The site is the initiative of the committee of AIA (the international art federation). Challenging the well-worn cliche' that "when the cannons roar, the Muses fall silent", the site represents the contrary appeal: "Let the Muses drown out the cannon's roar !"

The initiative was prompted by the Lebanon fighting, but even after the cease-fire went into effect, the site continues to operate and grow. "The battles in the north have halted for the present, but in Gaza ,Occupied Palestinian Territories and numerous places around the world, the bloodshed goes on ,It is the duty of the global artist community to stand up against the killing and the indifference, and support a just peace and international understanding."

The appeal has evoked a rapid and enthusiastic response. The site already exhibits the work of artists from 18 lands, and more are joining every day.

The exhibit can be viewed at : www.let-the-muses-speak-iaa.org

The site welcomes artists from every domain of visual art, and a new section extends to poetry and letters.
