The DaDa exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art is terrific. The
show runs to September 11th. If you are in town see this
exhibition. I went with Rob Murphy and we did an Art Dirt Redux. I
also downloaded the audio tour and did a mashup using the curator
statements and some of the dada original recordings. Here's the
link to the original audio http://nujus.net/gh/mp3/adr-6-21-06.mp3

The DaDa@MoMa Mashup operates on various levels. There is an ebb and
flow to the layered curators' voices. It sounds like the way normal
humans converse even though it is artificially created in the
mashup. They all talk at once, then there is a silence, and then
another crescendo.
There's also a documentary layer that is the sound samples I took
while walking around with Rob. The sensation is eerie. On the one
hand you have the concise thoughts presented by the curators on the
other is the atmosphere of sounds in the actual exhibition. I think
this comes fairly close to representing the actual experience in
sound terms. Just to heighten the reference and do a triple entendre,
I grabbed several images in the bookstore from the prints on demand
kiosk. It's an odd bracket that starts with the original DaDa
collage to the mashup and ends at the POD kiosk.
