I've been working with a group of people upstate who are developing a
Film and New Media festival. I've been pushing to make it the equal
to European festivals. I think it's getting there. This year Digit
festival will have August 27th at the old Woodstock Music & Arts
festival site It's a brand new Arts center called Bethel Woods. The
DVAA will host this 2 week event and there will be seven separate
venues. There are a lot of places to present media arts. There will
be a sound art event at the Roebling Bridge on the delaware river
that will have loud speakers on either side of the bridge. There's
also places for DJ's, VJ's installations etc.. Here's the info url

can also propose a piece:
Proposals are also being sought for media installations, performance,
games, software/electronic art, and interactive and Internet-based
media. Our Arts Alliance will present this work outside the
competition in our galleries and in the participating venues. Please

This is a wide open event. I would urge everyone to participate in
any way they can. If it is the success that I believe it will be it
will usher in a new type of media arts festival for the US.
