an odd discovery about web traffic

made a sort of traffic page that compares stats from a few counters
and logs. here's something it figured out.

The more links to a web page, presumably the more traffic it gets,
including from bots. But up to about 1000 hits/mo (to a single file),
93-97% are bots. Above that (even well into the thousands, never
gotten higher), only 5-8% are. Though there are a finite number of
bots, it would be difficult to eliminate repeat visits beyond a few
days. particularly without also eliminating the person who genuinely
likes your site, and returns the next day. Hence, though you may
expect a linear curve, this explains sudden shift, and stranger
leveling off.
