Harrison and Hauglum write that their goal with Bare Taps was to
experiment "with the movement of our feet and creating an intimate
environment that combined different senses and elementsSWhile
experimenting with the grinding muffled sounds of the taps as they
hit and scraped the ledge covered with sand, we also mixed various
colors with water and dampened sand to represent the flow of
emotions, relationships and their reactions. Pouring the mixed
elements off the balcony at the end became an exploration of gravity
and groundedness; in conclusion a progression of colorful footprints
represents the most simple image of all that a person leaves behind
while moving through the journey of life, the bare footprint."

Lehua Harrison and Haley Hauglum both earned a BFA in Dance from the
California Institute of the Arts. Lehua Harrison is currently dancing
with Winifred Harris's Between Lines Modern Dance Company while also
pursuing her aspiration of becoming a working choreographer in Los
Angeles. Hailing from Texas, Haley Hauglum is currently residing in
New York City where she is working while pursuing her goals of
becoming a professional dancer and choreographer.
