Rhizome.org Downtime

Hi everybody,

Rhizome is moving servers this week. This will go a long way towards
alleviating the slowness we've been experiencing for a while.

The move will probably take place today, and your access to the site
will be affected while we move data over to the new machines and change
the DNS. Different people will experience different downtimes: Most
will be a few hours, though in some cases DNS changes could take up to
a day or two to propagate.

Please note that no data will be lost, and email will work as normal,
with just a brief hiccup in service. Emails you send to the list will
take a little longer to send, but should reach their destinations
eventually.

Hi everybody,

Some of you may have noticed that Rhizome experienced a downtime today
from roughly 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST. Emails sent to Rhizome addresses
(including the Raw list) bounced, and attempts to view the web site
returned odd error messages.

After looking into the problem, the folks at Broadspire discovered it
was a bizarre network problem with their upstream, and moved the
Rhizome servers to IP addresses that are not affected by the problem.
As of this writing, the site appears to be working fine. As always,
feel free to email me directly to let me know if you're having any
problems.
