Pavilion presents the first in an ongoing series of talks by leading new media artists working in Britain today. The talks have been organised by Pavilion in partnership with Leeds College of Art and Design and University of Huddersfield.


Michael Pinsky (www.michaelpinksy.com) is an artist based in London working with new media, installation and public projects. His work explores relationships between architectural spaces and perceptions of time.

Since graduating from the RCA, London in 1995 he has developed projects including: Transparent Room, an ACE funded tour of eight UK venues; Feedback, exhibited in Weimar, Germany and the Ecole d'Art d'Aix en Provence, France and In Transit developed at V2 Lab for Unstable Media, Rotterdam and touring to the ICA, London. He is presently working on public art commissions in Newcastle, Hull, Bristol and London. His work has featured in the Guardian, Creative Camera, Blueprint and AN magazine.

Beverly Hood (www.bhood.co.uk) is an artist based in Edinburgh and has worked with the web and interactive media since the mid 90's, creating projects that examine the nature of communication, interaction and presence in relation to technology.

She has taken part in numerous residency programmes and worked with a range of international organisations to create projects including: c3; New Media Scotland; LUTCHI Research Centre; Akiyoshidai International Art Village. She is currently Postgraduate Co-ordinator for the MDes in Visual Communication at Edinburgh College of Art. Her work has been exhibited in the UK, Europe, North America and Japan. Recent shows include; sins & senses, Plug In, Basel; Virtual Incarnations, Institute of Contemporary Art, London; Mediarama, Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art, Seville; INTERSTANDING 4 - end repeat, The Art Museum of Estonia, Tallinn.
