The Museum of Contemporary Art announces the opening of the Rocky Mountain Biennial 2004, curated by New Mexico juror Jan Ernst Adlmann.

The Museum of Contemporary Art, in Fort Collins, Colorado, will open its seventh biennial exhibition of regional art this spring, beginning on April 13, 2004. The Rocky Mountain Biennial, formerly the Colorado/Wyoming Biennial, presents the scope of contemporary art created within a seven-state region. The juried exhibition is curated by Jan Ernst Adlmann, and will include 127 artists and over 170 works spanning the media of drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, digital art, installation, video, and beyond.

Adlmann, an art museum director and curator for over thirty years, is the former Assistant Director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. He has been involved with regional contemporary art since the 1960s, lecturing at the University of Colorado-Boulder, the College of Santa Fe, and the New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts. Adlmann, who viewed nearly 1600 entries from over 500 artists during the jury process, comments, 'The flood of entries
