AFTER NEEN

AFTER NEEN , a POST CONTEMPORARY ART SHOW. Opening Nov 16, at CASCO , in Utrecht, HOLLAND

This show, will be the very first entrance of NEEN in Europe, a very significant event, because Neen is the first art movement of the 21st Century.

A number of Neen people have been invited to produce new works in the form of a website. These websites, will be the "artworks" of the AFTER NEEN show.
They will be visible exclusively online, because that's where you want to see websites.

The main idea, is that we don't want to use the real place of the exhibition as "real". A "second" space will be super-imposed over the space of the exhibition.

That is the Neen World, which we are building in Active Worlds. We like to live with one leg wherever we happen to be and the other in the Internet. We want to fuse the two and move between fiction and reality as if we were characters of a novel. All ideas are under construction and they will continue to be under construction also during the show.

We don't want to put "art" in parade on this show. However, we want to suggest art and if possible make it visible. To realize this contradiction, some of us will be present in the show as humans and some will be there as avatars. The same thing will happen with our artworks.

In the NEEN WORLD, computer avatars discuss the future. They walk around as the philosophers were doing in the old times and they talk. The World is private, you can enter by invitation only. The people behind the computer avatars are the Neen people and their guests. The NEEN WORLD, will be projected in the space of the exhibition.places will not be evident
and easy to find : you will have to know somebody , or meet somebody there, a human or a bot, that will bring you to the different locations. It will be a private WORLD : people have to ask the password to enter. When you arrive there, what you see is a black forest. The architecture is by Andreas Angelidakis, as with Chelsea and the different Neen people can
have "places" in the world, places which represent their subconscious. The Neen World , is ultimately a collage of subconscious symbols and emblems of the different Neen people.
Some Neen people will hang around , wearing clothes similar to their avatar bodies . The public can watch what is happening and maybe, if the Neen people want to interact with the public, partecipate.

Some very strange music, made for the occasion by Gnac, (Mark Tranmer), Trinasim, Boy in Static , Sawako, Nobukazu Takemura and Aki Tsuyuko , will be part of the show.

In the occasion of the After Neen , a few new Neen theories such as the Contemplative Physiology by Michael Cervieri , the FourFortyFour theory and the EMINEM theory , will be introduced.

———————————————————–
- Neen : images, theories and situations that defeat the
categories of contemporary art, architecture, and design.

- We believe that web domains are the new art objects, that the screen is a
place to build homes and offices and we want to meet people who dress in a
brand new Avatar fashion. We want to listen music that is a loop and which
changes as we move around in the room, as it usually happens in a videogame .

- We want this music to open a new window in our perception and make a glass
of water appear on the table. We want something similar to a miracle : tech
that you don't need to know how to use and that in theory anybody could
manage but for some reason nobody does in the way we do .

Personal tech that is a product of coincidence and synchronicity.

In the past, poets have envision the encounter of an umbrella with a
sewing machine on a dissecting table : that is too banal today. We wish for
a new type of poets.

Or, we don't really care: we enjoy stay at home and look at the wall as
if it was a computer screen and as if soon, an important email will reach us through it.
