the FTAA in miami and the IMC

i just got back from Miami where there were numerous
activities occuring in response to the lastest round
of FTAA talks… i still never cease to be amazed by
the amount of force used on unarmed people because
they won't obey illegal demands. even legal observers
were arrested on thursday. and i've never seen police
measures taken on this scale, it was scary. but i
guess that's what 80+ million dollars from W will help
buy.
at any rate, for those interested, the IMC is working
on setting up an ongoing center there (there was a
temp one set up for the week)
http://www.ftaaimc.org/en/index.shtml
with the wide use of cell phones to coordinate demos
and avoid arrest, i wouldn't be surprised if the fuzz
started using cell phone disruption devices for
localized areas. how's that for bringing it back to
the list ;|

I hope they beat those nasty protesters good. Did they pepper spray them as
well? That's the best. Damn hippies.
