Good Night, 1000 Ridiculous Tragedies, Good Morning "And Then..."

For 3 years, one38.org was host to the literary magazine "1000 Ridiculous
Tragedies." We are closing that version of the site officially today. We
were able in our short run to publish people from all walks of life- from
published authors to high schoolers, from America to Australia, from short
stories to Pie Charts to Conceptual Art Pieces. Some of our writers have
been shared with prestigious publications such as McSweeneys and- well,
McSweeney's. Our "covers" were splash pages which included original net.art
from Kalx.com, Michael Daines, Leslie Harpold, Superbad (Who designed a
cover for our next issue, which will never exist), Dream7's Margaret Penny,
and D2B.org.

1000 Ridiculous Tragedies worked as a laboratory, and some of the
experiments grew into full fledged "spin off" sites, most notably The Eryk
Salvaggio Museum of Modern Living ( http://www.salvaggio-museum.org ).

The editors, Eryk Salvaggio and Tay Arrow Sherman, are moving on to other
things after the site sunk into an interminable hiatus resulting from new
opportunities in our careers and changing interests in what we do and how we
do it. We are proud of the work we've done there, but it was time to move on
to a new incarnation more in line with the times we live in. That answer
comes in the form of a blog. Hardly revolutionary, but then again, how
revolutionary was one more webzine at the turn of the century? Called "And
Then…", the new blog will include a team of contributors, some from 1000
Ridiculous Tragedies and some new people, but will, mostly, be Eryk
Salvaggio aka Scout Thompson. The blog will address politics and culture
from a critical, socially progressive perspective that is both idealistic
and practical and spews vitriol about republicans.

The old pages of 1KRT are archived and are still accessible through links
found on the new blog.
