no problems logging on just the five month problem of...

Zero problems logging in but the reoccurring problem of a Mac using Explorer 5 still isn't fixed. Refreshing the page usually 3-4 times does the trick. I don't pay money for faulty goods - rock on the 30 day grace, see ya with my sex change.

Daniel,

This one I know Francis is aware of..but I sent him an e-mail reminder just in case. I get this every once in a while too. Seems to affect MAC users on OS 9 (using IE 5 or 5.5)…which according to our stats is less than 5% of total users, but obviously anything more than 0 is too many. Anyway, I have let him know again and once he takes a look, will let you know what the deal is. It is a strange bugger though—wonder why refreshing is a temporary fix?

Hello,

The above has been a problem for a while now. I run Mac OS X and 9 as well
as Windows XP, and can say that OS 9 is really not being done justice at
this point. This is a tough one… I actually prefer OS 9 when on a Mac
(mainly due to older softer that I often run), but must admit to surf the
web mostly on a PC, due to plug-ins, etc.

by the way, I am able to log on now, on Mac system 9 (have not checked XP,
will not be ableto until about Thursday), but have not received any comments
from Francis.

Overall, considering the bulk of traffic, I think the site works well…
but I do get frustrated when it goes down on my end.

Best,

eduardoN.

itBad? not really just a glitch that I hope is fixed.

The story is that the site's been glitchy with MSIE Mac OS 9 for as long as I can remember. Fixing this has been on my list, but in the past I put it on low priority 'cause I assumed we don't have that many people who get tripped up on this. But we've been reevaluating that recently; if other people think this is really important I can look at it sooner rather than later.

I am hereby forwarding my last e-mail to the list. This one was a reply to
an e-mail that I received from Francis Hwang (supposedly) using my e-mail
address.

The problem I asked to be addressed (which seems to have been fixed)
consisted of not being to log -in. As of right now, I can log-in, again,
which may mean that Francis may have looked into my problem.

But the problem that I want to address now is that Francis used my e-mail
address to answer me publicly, on the list. As I already stated below, I
find this insulting, and demand an explanation behind his logic of using my
e-mail address to respond to me publicly. As the date on the e-mail below
shows, I have waited a few days to hear from Francis, or other staff at
Rhizome, but the response has been to ignore my reply to his offensive
gesture.

I demand an explanation,

Eduardo Navas

I thought Francis already gave what seemed like a perfectly innocent
explanation: he logged on as you to see if he could replicate the problem.
While he was logged on, forgetting that he was logged on as you, he sent you
an email about the problem. OK, a bit daft, but innocent. Unless there is
more to it, e.g. that there is a plot to insult you? Why would that be.
Cheers,
Ivan
