These net projects reference and intervene into a number of different
offline spaces: cinematic; urban; surveillance; street; Public; and
conceptual. The web is integral by providing either a collection point and
conceptual overview or as an interface and therefore providing access. This
selection also includes two projects reflecting on war strategies, these
both seem very relevant at a point where there is widespread discussion on
the processes and mis/information which drove the hasty war against Iraq.

'A-CLIP' is a micro intervention into the cinema. Consisting of an online
archive of 1 minute short films that explore states of insecurity,
including war, economic and existential crises.
The films are shown before feature films start in mainstream cinemas.Among
the advertisements for lifestyles products cinemagoers are surprised by
short movies that contain critical messages and disrupts the linear
narratives of the commercials that surround them.

'space-invaders' documents the notorious and un-solicited spread of images
of Atari invaders on the streets of our cities. A global
psycho-geographical map perpetrated anonymously and described by our mystery
artist as a, 'Reality Game.'

'isee' is a web based mapping tool that charts the locations of CCTV cameras
in urban areas and will show you a route between two chosen points that
avoids as many cameras as is feasible: Paths of least surveillance.

In 'Uncle Roy All Around You' on and offline gamers simultaneously navigate
the same overlapping London space in search of Uncle Roy. There is a degree
of interedependence between the players and each can sense the other through
their respective interfaces: hand held on the street and a virtual gaming
enviroment online.

Many more experiments with computer game technologies can also be accessed
at, 'Selectparks'. Notably due for imminent release is the long awaited,
'acmi {{park}}' -a large game-based architectural extension of the
Australian Centre for the Moving Image, in which a network of caverns and
rooms comprise the nodes of a vast sound installation for up to 64 on-line
players.

'Five Small Videos About Interruption And Disappearing' are a series of
short films that explore repetitive gestures and puns using interfaces and
system buttons to apparently control the behaviour of actors. The films
obliquely reference some early video practice.

'Rethinking Wargames' documents and extends a discussion generated by the
question, "Under what conditions could the pawns in this game win?" posted
to a variety of net art and chess message boards in February 2003. The
resulting mix of philosophical and technical responses makes for a curious
and elegant meditation on human institutions.

In 'Guernica [cover up]' text is image: Picasso's 'Guernica' is rendered as
the transcript from Colin Powell's pre-war speech to the UN. The UN covered
over this image for the speech. This reflective piece reveals the potency of
previous anti-war art which obviously still has resonance.
