INTERNATIONAL SCREENING:::$10. at the Door

Each year the NSA Festival Call for Entries taps into an
international collective unconscious and a self-declared theme
arises. One year it was water. Another year it was bio-
engineering. This year there are six programs that refer to
birds, either in imagery or sound. To give you an example of
how differently three artists treat this theme:
Geoff Adam's "Birdbeat (Fugue)" is a jazz war at the
birdfeeder, great original music with real birds fighting for turf
in sync. Jung-Chul Hur and Vchaya Vatanasapt's "Morning
Cuisine" (from South Korea) features swans tweaked to a
catchy dance. In contrast, Martijn Tellinga and Sami Kallinen's
"The Fall" (from The Netherlands) is nearly abstract, but the
text, which at one point declare's "His back muscles ache as he
is flapping his imaginary wings" draws our attention to the bird
that is falling…
You will be amazed and surprised at the work screened -
>>>Look forward to seeing you there!
