The Department of Music at Brown University is seeking applications for a full-time technical manager. The responsibilities include coordinating the technical concerns of the research facilities and academic programs for meme@brown (Multimedia and Electronic Music Experiments). Manager will assist with faculty research projects, work with students, provide support for concerts and special events, and maintain equipment in the program's recording studio and other music/multimedia production studios.

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical concerns of the entire Music Department, including computers, and audio systems. The Technical Manager will teach one course per year, with occasional other teaching as needed.

Applicants should hold a degree in music, engineering, computer science, or have related professional experience. Advanced degrees are preferred. Applicants must have a strong background in music, recording engineering, and multimedia. Candidates must have experience with a broad range of computer music, recording studio and related audio hardware and software and maintaining Apple computing systems. Applicants must possess the ability to deal with and prioritize conflicting demands. Candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with particular ability to explain technical issues to students, faculty, and staff. Teaching experience is preferred.
