EDITIONS/ARTISTS’ BOOKS FAIR:
THE 16TH INSTALLMENT OPENS ITS DOORS DURING NEW YORK’S PRINT WEEK
November 6 - 9, 2014
at the Art Beam Building – 540 West 21st Street
NEW YORK, NY

(September 9, 2014) - The Editions/Artists’ Books Fair (E/AB)–New York’s leading showcase for contemporary art publishers and dealers, presenting the “latest and greatest” in prints, multiples and artists’ books– today revealed more details about its new incarnation, slated to take place on November 6th-9th in the recently-renovated Art Beam Building. Curated by Art Critic and Art in America Contributing Editor Faye Hirsch, the 16th installment of the beloved Fair features over 40 exhibitors from around the world and presents works by hundreds of emerging and established artists. As part of its on-going mission to engage a wider audience, E/AB will continue to provide educational programming through its partnership with Christie’s Education, New York and admission to the Fair will remain free for all who attend during public opening hours.

This year’s participating dealers cut a wide swath in the industry, ranging from the venerable Landfall Press (Santa Fe, NM) and the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies at Columbia University (New York) to an up-and-coming contingent including 10 Grand Press (Brooklyn/Santa Fe) and international dealers such as Michael Woolworth Publications (Paris, France), Bartleby & Co. (Brussels, Belgium) and The Multiple Store (London, UK). Full exhibitor list can be found at (http://eabfair.org/exhibitors) and below.

“There was a notable gap during last year’s Print Week, and we’re thrilled that E/AB is now back - and under the aegis of the Lower East Side Printshop,” says the Fair Curator and noted art critic, Faye Hirsch. “The Fair is relatively informal, allowing for ready access to its diverse materials in all printmaking mediums, traditional and non-traditional. Exhibitors come from around the country, and a few from further afield.”

"We’re thrilled to be able to bring E/AB back this year – after a brief hiatus,” said Dusica Kirjakovic, executive director of New York’s Lower East Side Printshop. “As a publisher without a gallery space, we always looked forward to E/AB as a way to advance our artists and cultivate a broad audience and we felt the loss acutely. Therefore, when the opportunity came to continue the Fair, we jumped at the chance. We’re excited to carry on the tradition and extend the great work that was previously done by the founder, Susan Inglett.”

This year’s E/AB rekindles another Fair tradition: the commissioning of an artist to create an original limited edition benefit print. The 2014 Fair taps New York-based artist Enoc Perez to create a shimmering screenprint on mirrored paper, entitled Fountainbleu, Miami. Proceeds from the sales of the piece help supplement the costs associated with presenting the Fair.
