City to Sea are delighted to announce a truly distinctive event hosted by icons of the British holiday industry, Butlins. The workshop will be led by Magnum Photos photographer, Peter Marlow, with presentations from artists and practitioners affiliated with Goldsmiths, University of London and City to Sea, including David Kendall, Rebecca Locke and Paul Halliday.
This workshop is inspired by Goldsmiths’ 2011 international symposium ‘City to Sea’, which brought together artists, photographers, architects and sociologists to present projects and research exploring how regeneration and planning processes, tourism, migration, memory, visual archives, heritage and culture can transform social perceptions and geographical links between cities and coastal regions worldwide.
