Collagraph is an amazingly versatile printmaking process, based on the construction of a collaged matrix to provide a printable plate. A wide range of materials and textured surfaces such as fabric, leaves, sand and other found materials can be used in the plate-making process. Plates can be printed as intaglio or relief images, or as combinations of the two, leading to prints of astounding richness and strength.

This intriguing process creates a wide array of different effects and the use of diverse materials gives great variation in texture. The result is often unpredictable, rewarding the artist with an inspirational surprise. No prerequisite required. All levels are welcome. Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
