Pro Arts is pleased to present 2 x 2 Solos: Lordy Rodriguez, curated by Eric Murphy, on view September 4 – October 6 at Pro Arts’ gallery.
In this commissioned series of drawings ‘Postcards 3/11,’ Lordy Rodriguez responds to marine trash islands in the Pacific Ocean caused by the debris from recent earthquakes and tsunamis. As American scientists attempt to track the course of this debris with concerns for its arrival on our coastline, Rodriguez’s pen and ink drawings offer abstracted snapshots of the branded products churning together as the result of natural disaster and human negligence.
